A boy without an arm

In the moving train
He lie crippled and weak
Arm across his chest
On the cushion seat
First class said the board
I frowned a bit to see him there
The sunlight didn't need a pass
It victoriously made its way
through the window on his face
He woke up looking around
I saw his sleepy eyes
I felt small in shame
My eyes filled with tears
I kept looking at him
And the arm he was missing

I thought of the kids of his age
Happily living their dreams
Getting ready to conquer the world
Here he was struggling for his daily bread
Without a place to sleep or even sit
He owned nothing in this world
Not even an arm, how cruel you are!
How biased and mean can you be?
They say you exist, these are the moments I doubt
I doubt your power and capability
What was his sin?
Karma is an easy excuse you always have

But yes, you sent me to him
I cannot give him the lost arm
I can give him food, if not everyday
I can make him eat a meal today
I am thankful that you protect me always
I am forever grateful to you
For the life I live and for the loved ones in it
I feel blessed and I know you are watching me
But do take care of him and people like him too!
Don't give me that lame excuse, ever again!

  3. Touching poem! When I see a person with disabilities, I think how fortunate I am, but still we don't stop complaining about life even though we are blessed!

Let everyone in this world be happy :) I pray for the same too!
